Consignment terms
The agreement you sign before your item is listed. It is item-specific — this page explains what it covers.
This document is a placeholder awaiting attorney review.
The structure below reflects what this policy needs to cover. The binding text must be drafted or approved by a qualified attorney before this page is treated as a legal document. Do not publish this as-is.
What the agreement must set out
- Ownership — you retain title to the item until it sells
- Listing price and who can change it
- Commission rate for this specific item
- Deductible costs — marketplace fees, payment processing, authentication, shipping
- Consignment period and what happens when it ends
- Price reductions — that they require your agreement
- Unsold items — return process and who pays return shipping
- Buyer returns and chargebacks — how these are handled and who bears them
- Loss or damage in our custody insurance position: to be confirmed — do not publish a coverage claim that does not exist
- Counterfeits — that they will not be listed or returned to circulation
- Payout — method and timing to be confirmed
- Authentication — when required, by whom, at whose cost
- Termination — how either side ends the arrangement
Nothing is listed before you have agreed to this.
Not the price, not the commission, not the costs. If an item is in our possession and terms have not been agreed, it is not for sale.
